Yan Yan

Have you had "Yan Yan" biscuit snacks before?
'Yan Yan' snack is a Japanese snack. If you have not heard about it before, it is made by Meiji, which is the same company which manufactured the popular "Hello Panda" biscuits. If you have never heard of Hello panda, you are either
1) the type of people who does not like grocery shopping (because all supermarkets have it)
and
2) you dislike snacks.

Yan yan snack

It comes with chocolate dippings on one side and biscuit sticks on the other. The biscuit sticks are printed or baked with words related to animals like
- Rabbit eat more carrots,
- Snail the snail mail,
- Chicken Kokekkoko
How random right?

It is really delicious though. And it is a good snack pack. Only as a snack pack though. If you have it when you are hungry, you need ten packs of them coz having a pack of them is like having a Tim tam

Manly

Manly Beeeeeeeeaaaacch (reminds me of Lily in How I met your Mother's "s*n of a beeeeeeeeeach" term. Anyways I am getting out of point)

Anyways, it is a sunny day and we have decided to explore Manly Beach. Manly beach is a beach about 17 kilometres away from Sydney City itself and it took us approx 45 minutes to get there from the city. That tells you how bad traffic is in Sydney.

Throughout the trip, I had a querry onto whether Manly beach a "man"ly man manly beach? OMG I am so lame. But I have decided to find out whether the name relates to any masculine qualities of mankind. Answer is....

According to wikipedia.com, the answer is...

YES! The beach is named Manly when a captain thought the indigenous people who were living at the beach were both confident and manly. Thus naming it Manly Beach! Am I a genius or what!
Anyways, presentingggggg....
Manly Beach!

Lifeguards at Bondi rescue! I mean Manly.

How cute are these kids! All plonked down.

It was a great and relaxing weekend at Manly.
Especially when we met this happy dog. Ruff ruff

Coffee

I am addicted to caffiene.
The first thing I do every morning when I wake up is to switch the kettle on, and start my coffee making routine. You know the smell when you pour boiling water into a cup filled with THAT powder? OOHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT.
A day without it and you will see me yawning every single hour.

Why am I so addicted to this brownish black powder or beans? It all started thanks to mom. Back when we were young, no one was to have any coffee at all. Mom never buys coffee because according to her, it is evil and addictive. She needs a glass every day too, but she gets her caffiene from the coffee at work. Double standards. Meh.

I started my coffee intake when I was in uni. Cramming the week before exams, having a cuppa every time I start yawning. There was a time when I tried taking caffiene tablets! No doz they call them. Evil tablets. Real evil. You take one, you stay awake and awake... and awake, but your brain, when it needs to rest, it just needs to. The last time I tried it, I was awake but I couldnt concentrate at all.

This is what I have every single day.
yums right?

Well, I am going to try to reduce my coffee intake and cut caffiene out from my diet. Ok not completely yet, because I might need to resort to tea. But I will start from coffee. Starting today.

Deception, beguilement, deceit, bluff, and subterfuge are acts to propagate a beliefs that are not true, or not the whole truth OR
something intended to misrepresent the true nature of an activity;
Eg "he wasn't sick--it was just a subterfuge"; "

bak kua

YUMS. SLURPS

Guess what is this. I know the picture is not doing it justice.

bak kua!!!
can you believe it! bak kua! bak kua in Sydney! For anyone who doesn't know what 'bak kua' is,
BIGGGGGGGGGG LOSS!
its actually roasted pork slice(something like beef jerky) but much more delicious and not as hard! In Malaysia, its a popular Chinese New Year gift and snack. Any house that doesn't have a container or tupperware filled with bakkua as a snack is not a "Chinese New Year House". hahaha one thing though, have one slice and it's like you had a bowl of oil. Am I exaggerating? NO I'M NOT.
IT IS SO SUPER FATTENING!
The amount of salt, sugar, oil and fat in that one small piece!!!!
ok may be I am exaggerating a little.

ANyways, we bought a piece of that greased pork. oooooohhhhhhh yummmmmmmmsss!

I tried to be fit and walked along Glebe Point rd after dinner with my camera. :D

someone left their rocking horse for the Vinies... I hope the little kid knows his/her mom is giving away his/her rocking horse.

a florist along Glebe point road.

Pictures of the bridge and water between Sydney Bicentennial Park and Blackwattle Bay Park. How pretty is Sydney!
(urrrrmmm only this bit though.. a few weeks ago, I actually saw a pile of poo on the same street. Grossness to the max)YUCK

A taste of home in Sydney

Anyone who checks out any professional food blogger's website, will surely find a posting about mamak. The rookie in me decided to give it a go! When we arrived, the queue was still crazy as ever but we've decided, WE WILL QUEUE UP FOR IT! Took pictures of the people who were making the roti-s. There are some mad-skills in there!

check it out! All of the chef are Chinese! A lot of people might think it is somewhat usual. But being from Malaysia, I have never ever seen a roti chef who is a Chinese. hehehe

We finally stepped into the shop (still waiting for seats though) look at everyone's mesmerized faces

Nasi Lemak. Absolutely love oiled rice

Lamb murtabak aka murtabak LEMBU

Overall, not bad! Would have preferred it if the queue is shorter though. Maybe I should be in the restaurant at the times when it is JUST open or JUST closing... hehe
